in a hum drum world

And get tossed along like

pebbles in a river

or

you can choose to make

something of your life.

Remember a diamond looks

just like a pebble before it is hewn into a jewel.

There will be people who you connect with

And people you wish you had never met.

Look at those who are good for you as the jewels of life

And the people who are not good for you as the pebbles.

Now consider the value of each and you will see

the value of those closest to you means the most.

Don’t let the pebbles of life prevent you from

enjoying the riches the jewels of life offer.

Today is a very precious gift –

Yet we allow people to take advantage of us,

We become “Yes People!”

Always ready to help others

And never anytime to do

 the things we would like to do.

Each day we live we are creating

A World Out Of Balance

In a world out of Balance

It seems impossible that we can

Do anything to bring back the balance.

Yet even though you are only one person

You can still do something.

You need to think like a person of action,

and act like a person of thought.
Think before you act,

Many problems in life could have been prevented

If the consequences were thought about before taking action,

But do not hesitate too long – there is a time for everything

And when the time is gone it can sometimes be too late,

If you spend too long contemplating.

If we want to see a change

We need to become the change,

Step by step restoring the balance ,

Beginning with our own lives,

We can make a difference to

The world around us.

Often people hold on to pain,

saying he or she did this to me.

I am suffering because of what

another person has done.

The beauty of life is that we all have 

a free will - we might have to 

adjust to others around us but 

essentially we do have the right to 

decide how we are going to react.

How much power we are going to

allow a person to have over us.

Yes you may have had a rough ride

through life - but the seas won't get

any better unless you do something!

So take a lesson from the Egyptians 

and wipe the Kartush of the person 

to whom you bear a grudge 

off the face of the earth.

Let yourself be free of bitterness,

If something no longer exists in your eyes

then it can't hurt or upset you.

Friends to the End: The True Value of Friendship

The power of trust is amazing!

As babies we are born into this world with

open and trusting hearts.

As we grow up we aresometimes tossed and torn.

We close up and forget how to trust.

Allowing ourselves to trust others,

opens up our lives and allows us to breathe 

easy once more.

You might have been hurt in the past,

but do not allow this to close your heart.

Learn to trust once more - 

you have gone the distance and

 know what to look out for ..

Look carefully and tread softly.

It is said if you tell a person a white lie

and they spread it - 

you know you can not trust them 

with your secrets.

Final Wishes

This week I would like to talk about something of a more sombre nature, the prospect of what happens when we pass on? The thought of how you would like to be treated, do you have a Living Will? Will you be cremated or buried? And that of making a Will to ensure what you leave behind goes where you would like it to, that anyone who relies on you is looked after, including your pets.
Many of us are happy to go along our daily lives and not worry about what might happen tomorrow. We are young, at times we think we don’t have anything to leave behind, but we all do even if it is just a book, or something trivial that may mean a lot to us but others might not value it.
Letting people know what your wishes are should you pass on also takes the stress away from family when deciding between a burial or cremation and in the case of a cremation what you would like done with your ashes.
Making a Will should be a priority for all of us. The majority of people who die go without writing a will, this leaves everything in the hands of the government, and the loved ones not knowing what to do.
Nobody expects to go at the same time as their loved ones. When my foster parents died, they were killed in a car accident, each one had written a will, leaving everything they owned to each other respectively. The government sealed the house and it was a nightmare trying to get anything back, even my own personal belongings that were in the house. You worked hard for what you have and you should choose who to pass them on to. I would suggest having a second person you can name in case this scenario ever occurs.
A will it is a legal document and therefore should be checked by a solicitor, depending where you are a solicitors verification is not necessary to legalise a will but is does give peace of mind.

Today I lost a friend

Be proud to say "I did it my way!"

Take responsibility for your own life.

Don't blame others for your actions.

Learn from your mistakes and congratulate yourself

on a job well done.
